Some demo days are about trying a bike. This one felt more like giving people a proper taste of what Pinarello is all about.
On Saturday, Pinarello joined us at Mike Vaughan Cycles in Kenilworth with a fleet of Dogma F and Dogma X bikes, to give local riders the chance to experience two of the most premium road bikes in the world on Warwickshire roads.
The route was a 25km loop starting from the shop, heading out of Kenilworth and down through the lanes around Beausale before returning back into town. It was a proper real world test route, with rolling lanes, rougher sections of road, faster stretches and enough changes in pace to get a good feel for the bikes.
The weather did not make it easy. The first and fourth rides were very wet, but that did not stop people turning up. We ran four rides in total and had a brilliant turnout across the day, with riders braving the rain because they did not want to miss the opportunity to ride a Dogma.
The feedback throughout the day was exactly what you would expect from bikes at this level. Riders came back impressed, but not just because they had ridden a premium bike.
What stood out was how quickly people could feel the difference. A few riders commented straight away on how planted the bikes felt, even in poor conditions.
One of the common bits of feedback was that the bikes felt fast without feeling twitchy. That is a hard balance to get right, but it is something Pinarello does incredibly well. The Dogma F in particular gave people that proper race bike feeling. Sharp, stiff, responsive and eager to accelerate. It feels like a bike that wants to be pushed. When you stand up and put power through it, there is very little delay. It just goes.
The Dogma X gave a slightly different impression. Riders still felt the speed and quality, but the words we kept hearing were things like smooth, stable and comfortable. It still feels every bit a premium Pinarello, but with a more forgiving character that makes a huge amount of sense on UK roads.
The Dogma F is the bike people think of when they think of modern Pinarello. It is the flagship race bike, and it feels every bit as serious as it looks. The ride feel is sharp and direct. The handling is precise, the frame feels extremely stiff under load, and the whole bike has that sense of urgency you expect from a top level race machine.
On the faster sections of the route, it felt completely at home. On the short rises and out of the saddle efforts, it responded instantly. A few riders came back with the same sort of reaction: “It just feels fast.” That is probably the simplest way to describe it. The Dogma F does not need much explaining once you ride it. It feels efficient, refined and purposeful. There is no wasted movement. No softness. No vague handling. It is a bike built for performance. Visually, it also has that unmistakable Pinarello identity. The sculpted frame shapes, the asymmetric design and the aggressive stance give it real presence. It looks premium because it is premium.
The Dogma X was just as impressive, but for different reasons. Where the Dogma F feels like the pure race machine, the Dogma X gives you a little more calmness and comfort without losing the high-end feel. On damp Warwickshire lanes, that really stood out.
Riders liked how composed it felt over rougher road surfaces. It did not feel dull or overly relaxed, but it took the edge off the road in a way that made it very easy to ride quickly. That was probably the strongest feedback of the day on the Dogma X: it gives you speed, but it does not beat you up. One rider summed it up well after the ride: “It still feels fast, but I could imagine riding it for hours.” That is exactly where the Dogma X makes sense. It is for riders who want a premium road bike with serious performance, but who also want something suited to longer rides, rougher surfaces and real-world British roads.
The demo bikes were fitted with Shimano Dura-Ace and DT Swiss ARC 1400 wheels, which suited the bikes perfectly. Dura-Ace is as crisp and refined as you would expect. The shifting was fast, clean and effortless, and the braking performance was especially appreciated in the wet. On a rainy day, confidence in the brakes matters. Riders were able to descend, corner and control speed without feeling like the conditions were taking over.
The DT Swiss ARC 1400 wheels also suited the bikes brilliantly. They gave the bikes that premium aero feel without making them difficult to handle in poor weather. They looked right, rolled beautifully and completed the overall package. This was not just a good frame with average kit bolted onto it. The full build felt high-end from top to bottom.
For us, the best part of the day was seeing people come back genuinely excited. The rain could easily have spoiled it, but it did not. Riders still turned up, still rode, and still came back smiling. That says a lot about the pull of the Pinarello brand.
These bikes are not just transport.
They are emotional bikes.
They are the kind of bikes people want to experience, talk about and remember.
